DCF School of Origin Transportation (SOOT)
Children in foster care have the right to remain in their school of origin when placed in foster care or moved to a new placement. Some students in foster care will need transportation to remain in their schools of origin. On June 1, 2019 the Department of Children and Families contracted Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. (ABH) to establish and operate an administrative service program for the coordination and dispatch of DCF credentialed transportation for DCF clients receiving services under the School of Origin (SOO) Transportation program.

A note of clarification on punch/status changes done by provider dispatchers:
- Every trip should have a final status by the end of the day – if for any reason a trip does not have an accurate status at the end of the day, your dispatcher should update that status in the dispatch screen if the trip was completed. That update should not remove punches and the status update will get to ABH.
- If your dispatcher makes changes to the punch times, or adds notes to the dispatch screen to indicate delays, issues, etc., that information will not get back to ABH.
