ABH Officially Welcomes Deena Tampi as President & CEO at Meet & Greet
MIDDLETOWN, CT – Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. (ABH) hosted a meet and greet on Friday, January 16, at its corporate office to formally welcome Deena Tampi as the organization’s President and Chief Executive Officer. The event brought together state agency partners, elected officials, and community providers to meet and discuss ABH’s ongoing role in Connecticut’s broader behavioral health landscape.
In November, ABH Board Chair Lisa DeMatteis announced the decision to hire Tampi, noting that her experience as a senior healthcare executive makes her the right person to lead the organization toward continued stability and trust. Tampi assumed the permanent role following a national search and one year of service as the organization’s Acting CEO.
During her remarks, Tampi highlighted ABH’s 30-year legacy of service and the growing importance of its mission as behavioral health needs increase across the state. She emphasized that her leadership will focus on supporting the state’s provider network and delivering essential services with compassion and accountability.
The event saw participation from key state leaders, including members of the Connecticut General Assembly, representatives of the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) and the Department of Children and Families (DCF), as well as local leaders. Tampi expressed gratitude for the continued collaboration with these partners.
Tampi is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry and has co-authored over 70 evidence-based publications and five academic textbooks. Prior to joining ABH, she co-founded the Behavioral Health Advisory Group and served as Executive Vice President of the Diamond Healthcare Corporation.
Founded in 1995, ABH is a nonprofit behavioral health management company specializing in utilization management, provider network administration, claims processing, and health information technology. The organization collaborates with state and federal payers to deliver person-centered services for all age groups.
