EAP Clinical Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The EAP Clinical Manager is responsible for managing and providing services for EAP accounts within the client book of business alongside the Director, EAP Solutions. The EAP Clinical manager is responsible for clinical quality management and supervision of the clinical staff, providing confidential counseling and guidance.  Services provided will include counseling services, training and facilitation of workshops, consultation, critical incident response, and program promotion. This role is 90% client facing and consists of 10% administrative duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a clinical caseload of 30 hours per week.
  • Supervision of unlicensed staff and trainees.
  • Ensure satisfaction of assigned client accounts and implement quality and cost-effective programs.
  • Provide consultation services to managers and supervisors on handling troubled employees at client organizations.
  • Provides counseling services to employees and family members of customer organizations.
  • Conducts client employee education sessions on a wide variety of topics as needed and makes appropriate referrals coordinated with medical insurance, clinical and financial needs as needed.
  • Conduct groups with client employees to cope with change, loss and trauma.
  • Provides coverage at Health Fairs and Safety events.
  • Presents regular reports to EAP Director as requested.
  • Assists the Director, EAP Solutions to promote the growth of Solutions EAP.
  • Provides after hours crisis intervention assessment and counseling as needed.
  • Provides appropriate referrals coordinated with medical insurance, and clinical, financial cultural and ethnic needs as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all clients protected health information and adheres to all HIPAA related policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates ethical behavior and cultural sensitivity in all activities involving individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Assists Director, EAP Solutions in establishing and maintaining a working environment conducive to positive morale and teamwork.
  • Assists Director, EAP Solutions in establishing short and long-term goals that are both measurable and obtainable to meet account requirements and ensure that these expectations are clearly communicated and understood by all staff. 
  • Assists Director, EAP Solutions in providing training, ongoing feedback, and support to staff.
  • Performs other tasks/responsibilities as required to support the business operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Clinical master’s degree or above along with four to five years of progressively responsible related experience in human services or managed care behavioral health setting;
  • Active clinical license such as LPC, LCSW, LMFT, required.
  • Three (3) or more years of supervisory or leadership experience, entrepreneurial in nature, and business leadership skills.
  • Preferred 4-5 years of EAP leadership experience.
  • Experience conducting employee workshops and management training.

  • Demonstrated level of expertise in employee assistance programs and/or program development.
  • Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills; ability to relate to people at all levels with diverse personalities in a diplomatic and professional manner.
  • High energy, enthusiastic team player capable of excelling in a fast paced, “roll up your sleeves” deadline-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated facilitation, excellent verbal & written communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and change management opportunities.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities.
  • Forward thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge of mental health and substance abuse diagnosis and treatment and the role of the consultant in bringing about organizational change.
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent PC skills with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Package (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook); internet.
