Utilization Management
ABH utilization management services ensure that clients receive medically necessary services from licensed professional providers in the most appropriate and least restrictive care setting. ABH is a licensed utilization review agency in the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island.
Our services include triage and referral assistance, prior authorization, continued stay, discharge planning, family service and primary care coordination, and appeal resolution. We are proactive in our approach to managed care, seeking to identify high-risk individuals for intensive care management and implementing other initiatives to increase the quality of care and services.
ABH handles high volumes - more than 91,000 clinical reviews conducted and nearly 47,000 calls received and processed in FY2004 - within closely-monitored quality assurance standards. Providers can obtain authorizations for ambulatory services through the use of the Electronic Registration System (ERS), a secure web-based service developed by ABH to streamline the authorization process for both providers and clients.
