The General Assistance Intensive Case Management program, funded by the Department of Mental Health and Addictions Services (DMHAS) and administered by ABH®, provides case management services to an identified cohort of individuals receiving General Assistance benefits throughout the state. Working in conjunction with the General Assistance Utilization Management unit at ABH®, GAICM recovery specialists identify and assist individuals who utilize repeated or lengthy acute inpatient mental health or substance abuse services. The goals of the program include improving successful treatment outcomes, assisting individuals in accessing other entitlement programs, and returning to gainful employment.
