This position provides MDFT training, consultation and Quality Assurance services to MDFT teams across Connecticut. This position will represent ABH® and its services in a positive and professional manner and adhere to ABH®’s best practices, guidelines, policies and procedures as established, promoting ABH® as a leader in behavioral healthcare in all interactions and work.


  • Provide quality assurance, training and consultative services to MDFT teams in accordance with all requirements, terms and provisions in the DCF MDFT Program and all the terms and conditions established from time to time for the DCF MDFT Program;
  • Track data and submit reports as required;
  • Perform audits as requested;
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to public groups;
  • Ensures and manages relevant data regarding quality of contracted functions;
  • Assist in all program presentation, conferences and meetings;
  • Maintains confidentiality of all client protected health information and adheres to all HIPAA related policies and procedures;
  • Demonstrated ethical behavior and cultural sensitivity in all activities involving individuals of diverse backgrounds;
  • Complete requirements as designed by model developer for MFDT trainer certification within nine months of start date;
  • Performs other tasks/responsibilities as required to support the business operations.


  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field required;
  • License required;
  • Demonstrated family therapy and evidenced-base models experience desired;
  • 3 or more years of progressively responsible related experience in behavioral health, managed care and provider relations;
  • 2 or more years demonstrated supervisory experience;
  • 3 or more years experience with adolescent, family and substance abuse treatment;
  • Certification in MDFT Therapy;
  • Attends annual Conflict of Interest training.


  • Competence in family therapy, behavior therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy;
  • Significant knowledge base of evidence based practices and their application in the real world including knowledge of best practices in adolescent outreach and substance abuse treatment;
  • Demonstrated competency with research literature on the causes, correlations and treatments of delinquency and serious emotional disturbances desirable;
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective public presentations;
  • Ability to travel as required;
  • Ability to work well independently and in collaboration with other management, staff team members and external stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate goals, problem identification, assess implications, anticipates consequences, provide resolution and meet deadlines;
  • Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and change management opportunities;
  • Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills;
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent PC skills with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Package (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook); internet;
  • Strong written and verbal skills required.
